Hi!  My name is Jackie Koop and I am so pleased to be teaching Second Grade at Mary Queen of Heaven School.

MQH School reminds me of my beloved grade school and parish, St. James, in Ludlow, KY, where I grew up.  I spent eight wonderful years there. I graduated from Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills, and Thomas More College in Edgewood. I also had the privilege of attending the University of Maryland, European Division in Vicenza, Italy. I am married to my husband, Jim, and have two sons, Jamie and Jonathan. Jim graduated from U.C. and we are all avid U.C. Basketball fans, so you can see we have to be very brave and take a lot of verbal abuse! I have a passion for  traveling, reading good novels, and cooking in my spare time. My son says I am the best cook in the world! ( He likes to eat!)     My favorite part of teaching is preparing the children for the momentous celebrations of the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. I also enjoy sharing my love of Socials Studies with both the First and Second Graders. I hope my love for my Church and our universe will have a lasting impact on my students!
