Each year in April, the fourth graders learn about many different types of poetry.  This year, we took advantage of the first beautiful, warm day and went outside to write poetry.  We used the pretty scenery as inspiration, and we managed to write some excellent haikus!

 

 

 

 

We've also been studying geometry, and we spent one Friday morning reviewing the material through a variety of geometry activity stations.  The kids loved doing something a little different in math!

 

 

 

 

We took a trip to Frankfort with the fifth graders, and we enjoyed checking out the historical buildings, including the old and new capitol buildings and the governor's mansion.
