Dear MQH School Parents,

 

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year from your MQH PTO Board members:

Tonight we’re sharing plans for the 2010-2011 school year and how YOU can play a big part in helping the PTO help our faculty and students achieve their goals and have fun doing it!  So, let’s get started!!!!

 

Membership –  Join the PTO TONIGHT! And help your child’s class win a pizza party if they are the first class with 100% participation!   Dues are $15 for the year.  Please see the enclosed Membership Information form and stop by our table.  Please return your dues by Friday, September 3.

 

Volunteers –   Are the of the PTO!   Tonight we have sign up sheets for all PTO committees and events for the WHOLE year.  Each family is expected to volunteer 6-10 hours of time this year.  Volunteers are needed both as chairs and members of various committees.  Please look over the attached list and stop at the tables to sign up.  Remember that you MUST be Virtus trained to help out with these events.  If you need information on how to get certified, stop at the VIRTUS table tonight or call the Rectory. If you’re unsure of your calendar, please return the Volunteer Form by
Friday, September 3



Fund Raising –  For 2010-2011, the PTO has committed to fund :

  • $6,750 ( $30/student) for in-house or field trip programs 
  • $10,000 Endowment
  • $1,000, for 2 $500 Catholic high school scholarship for our 8th graders

 










The PTO supports MQH faculty’s newly designed in-house and field trip program
It includes favorites like Children’s Theater, new events like COSI on Wheels, and Madcap Productions for Catholic Schools Week.

 

To meet these goals, the PTO will hold the following major fund raising events:  

  • Walk a Thon                                                       
  • Kards for Kids                                          
  • Market Day        
  • No Cost to You merchant programs

These goals are within reach…..all that is needed is YOUR COMMITMENT to  volunteer, attend, promote, and buy…..and it starts NOW!

 

 

Walk a Thon –Tuesday, September 28

You are getting an envelope for each child that explains the details, is a permission slip, and is for pledge collection.  REMEMBER, NO STUDENT CAN PARTICIPATE WITHOUT A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP AND AT LEAST $10  IN PLEDGES.  Also, we have pre-addressed, stamped pledge solicitation letters that your student can sign and send to out of town family who would like to contribute. WE’RE ASKING YOU TO TAKE 1 LETTER TO MAIL OUT.  

 

Market Day – Thursday, Sept 16 first pick up

What a great way to feed your family and help your PTO at the same time!!!! Our Market Day program is one of the most successful in N. Kentucky, and we want to be #1! Your PTO packet includes more information and an order form due Sept. 10 to the office or Sept. 11 by midnight online.  We want to increase our customers & sales by 10%......so SAMPLE tonight!! Kards for Kids –Weekly Ordering

Buying gift cards to use for everyday purchases, pay monthly merchant bills, or give as gifts is the simple idea behind this program.    This program, which includes national and local merchants,  makes it EASY for you to order and receive your favorite cards on a WEEKLY basis.  Additional details will be shared and you can place your FIRST ORDER TONIGHT!!
 
 

No Cost to You programs – Ongoing

Merchant Partnerships where shopping has never been so rewarding!  Meijers, Remke’s, Target, and Gordon Food Service all have partnership programs to raise funds for schools based on a % of the sales.  Box Tops for Education and Cartridges for Kids are other ways to earn $$ for MQH School with minimal effort.  Please look over the enclosed details on these programs. 

 

 

Meetings –

Board  – 1st Thursday each month, 7:00 PM

The PTO IS YOU!!!! And you're invited to attend our monthly Board meetings.  Our bylaws state that only Board members can vote on issues, but any member can bring matters to the Board for consideration, or participate as a spectator.  If you'd like to submit an item for consideration, details must be sent to the President in writing at least 48 hours in advance.  Once she has confirmed receipt, it would be addressed under New Business.
