Mary, Queen of Heaven sent four fourth graders and seventeen middle school students to the Regional Science Fair at NKU March 21 and came away a winner; again.  This is the second year in a row that MQH scientists have won more awards than any other school in the thirty northern counties of Kentucky.  Students came back with hundreds of dollars in cash and gift cards as well as a pile of medals and certificates.

Ten middle school students qualified for the state science fair at EKU on April 4.  Nine competed against students from Louisville and Lexington, many of whom had access to labs and mentors from U of L and UK.  Despite the odds, two students were judged to have the best project in the state of Kentucky.  Angela Grover won first in Chemistry with her experiment on cars powered by acid-base reactions and Nick Croyle won first in Mathematical Sciences by correlating the length of guitar strings with their pitches and frequencies.
